Remembering Grandma

So today we take the time to remember one of the most amazing women I know, my grandmother. Well our grandmother. She was such a loving, caring and fun women to be around. She had a heart of gold and I dont think anyone could make you feel as loved as she did. Anyone who knew grandma knew she loved all of us with all of her heart and when she left she left us part of her heart. She was an extraordinary person.

I was soo glad to see all my family come together towards the end of her life. It was so unexpected and quick. Who knew that she would be gone soo soon after finding out she had cancer. We were originally told we had a year but unfortunately GOD had other plans for her. We all took the time to come see her before she passed. And I do believe that helped her go easier onto her journey to heaven. She was soo happy to see all of us come together. We havent done that in such a long time. I only wish it could have been in happier terms.

So as we are all sitting here wondering what she is doing I think we all know in our hearts. Im sure she has visited the casino, gone shopping, played bingo, and is floating the lake up there. She always loved to do that when we were kids and would always help us rake it out so it wasnt all gross on the bottom. And even more important she is sitting at the kitchen table, watching the birds and looking down on all of us. She is always watching us and is always in our lives. Nothing will ever change that. And we all know she has that bag of tootsie rolls sitting on that table. She doesnt have to hid them in the dresser anymore.

So even though this is a sad day I want to take the time out to remember all the amazingly wonderful times I shared with her. Grandpa putting the mattress in her room so I could sleep in there with her, playing dice, making breakfast, watching the birds, floating the lake and just all the other amazing things we used to do. I only hope that one day I will become like my grandma. A big heart for a wonderful women. Everyone loved her and she is definitely missed but ultimately in a better place.
